Hatemotivated crime really did emphasize, or reinforce the concerns in the Chinese Community that they were increasingly victims of certain types of crime in the city, and also assaults. I think the most striking statistic from the initial data that we got from the Police Department was how African Americans are overwhelmingly, disproportionately victims of violent crimes, homicide, Sexual Assault and assault.
