a deal has been struck in nearly the 11th hour. good evening. i m jim vance. and i m doreen gentzler. at this hour the house republicans and house democrats say they have reached an agreement. at least that s what house speaker john boehner just announced. the deal includes a temporary funding measure into the middle of next week. again, the shutdown will be averted while the final deal is hammered out on the hill in the next few days. just minutes ago house speaker john boehner spoke to the media very briefly. here he is. i m very pleased that senator reid and the white house and i have come to an agreement to cut spending and keep our government open. i expect the house will vote yet tonight on a short-term continuing resolution into next week to allow for time for this to agreement to be put together in legislative form and brought to the floor of the house and senate for a vote. and so i would expect the final vote on this to occur mid next week. this still means
