Press release from Forest Hills Presbyterian Church:
Feb. 11, 2021
Forest Hills Presbyterian Church will be presenting a new Lenten series, Sacred Masterworks for Lent , a guided listening and discussion of Handel s Messiah Parts II and III. Since most performance halls are still closed due to Covid, the tradition of sacred masterworks performed during Lent has been hampered, to say the least. This year, we will meet via Zoom.

This series will take place weekly on Fridays at noon. We will begin on February 19th and run through April 9th, 2021.
Dr. Irma-Louise Wright, the Music Director at FHPC, will lead the series. The presentation will be from a music appreciation perspective: guided listening, discussion, with some historic references and a lot of participation. Even if you know this incredible work very well, please join us, there is always another discovery to be made or inspiring revelation to be found when immersing oneself in a masterwork. If you do
