BETTENDORF, Iowa A local historic site is set to reopen to the public, after a year being closed due to the pandemic.
The Forest Grove School No. 5 is located in northeast Bettendorf, Iowa. It sits near quiet farmland between Pleasant Valley subdivisions and the booming TBK Bank Sports Complex area.
The one-room schoolhouse was built in 1873 for $1,500.
The school held around 30 students, ranging in ages from 5 to 14 years old.

Palm Coast, FL – The Flagler County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO) first bloodhound in decades, K-9 Holmes, quickly located a missing adult on Saturday in Palm Coast. FCSO responded to a group home where an adult left the home on foot after becoming upset about losing television privileges. A group home employee was able to follow the run-away through neighborhood backyards on Forest Grove Drive until the subject crossed the canal and the employee lost sight of him. Sergeant Gimbel arrived on scene with FCSO K9 Holmes, giving him the scent from an article of the subject’s clothing. they searched the area making contact with the subject in the woods across Forest Grove Drive. The man fled deeper into the woods but K-9 Holmes located him again. He was safely secured and taken back to the group home, where he said he would immediately run away again. “K9 Holmes and his handler did exactly what they were trained to do and thankfully were able to find him

Palm Coast City Council member Victor Barbosa was cited for inattention in a t-bone crash he provoked last week at the intersection of Old Kings Road and Forest Grove Drive in Palm Coast.
The crash took place at 12:30 p.m. on March 4, according to 911 notes. Barbosa, 41, who is also a resident of the F Section, was at the wheel of a black 2020 Chevrolet pick-up. The victim of the crash is an 18-year-old resident of the F-Section. He was at the wheel of a gray 2014 Chevrolet Equinox.
