JAMESTOWN, N.D. (NewsDakota.com) – After nearly two months of discussion and research, the Jamestown Public Works Committee moved to approve a Citywide Cleanup for the week of May 10th through the 14th.
Sanitation Foreman Shawn O’Neill informed the committee that if they were to move forward with the cleanup, he would not have enough staff at this time to conduct the weeklong event.
O’Neill stated they would need to rent two loaders with six part-time employees to help during the week. Councilmember David Steele stated that Deputy Auditor Jay Sveum would be tasked with finding part-time work for the week.

The Jamestown Public Works Committee approved holding a cleanup week from May 10 through May 14 on a split vote Thursday.
The vote came after a lengthy discussion debating whether to send city crews to pick up materials in Jamestown rather than extending the hours at the sanitation baler that would allow residents to bring materials there for disposal.
