Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Sunday asked the PPP and PML-N why they are fleeing from a clause in the Charter of Democracy signed between both parties which lays out an open ballot method for Senate elections.
In a press conference in Multan, Qureshi pointed out that the Charter of Democracy signed by the PPP and PML-N in 2006 contains a section that expressly lays out that Senate elections will be held via open balloting the very change being sought by the government now.

Foreign Office says the visit of Taliban Political Commission delegation is part of Pakistan’s policy to reach out to key Afghan parties in Afghan peace process.

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Foreign Affairs Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Wednesday said that the responsibility for a reduction in violence in Afghanistan cannot be shouldered by the Taliban alone.
Addressing a press conference following a meeting with an Afghan Taliban delegation led by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, the foreign minister said that peace talks have now begun but the reduction in violence that was expected is so far not being witnessed.
