Hungarian FM Szijjarto Pays Official Visit to Macedonia
Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto paid on Wednesday an official visit to Macedonia, and handed over a donation of 6,000 AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines, which will be used for vaccination of employees in the Interior Ministry. Szijjarto was welcomed at the Skopje Airport by his Macedonian counterpart Bujar Osmani and Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski.
“This donation from Hungary comes as a form of gratitude by official Budapest for the role of our border control police in handling the waves of migrants coming from North Africa and the Near East towards Central and Western Europe. The two countries of ours contributed towards the stability in Europe with their cooperation,” Osmani said. Szijjarto and Osmani also discussed the processes for the EU-integration of Macedonia, with both of them agreeing that Macedonia is a credible partner of the EU and should start the accession talks as soon as possible. BEIRUT, April 26 (Xinhua) Hungarian Foreign Affairs Minister Peter Szijjarto pledged on Monday more international support for Lebanon aimed at assisting refugees and preventing illegal immigration, the National News Agency reported. We commend Lebanon for sheltering millions of refugees and providing them with all the necessary supplies, but we also believe that refugees must return to their homeland, Szijjarto said during his meeting with Lebanese caretaker Foreign Minister Charbel Wehbe in Beirut.
Szijjarto said that Lebanon s stability is essential to security and stability in the Middle East and is of paramount importance for Europe in general and for Hungary specifically.
