BRICS condemns high violence in Afghanistan

New Delhi [India], June 1 (ANI): BRICS member states condemned the continuing high level of violence and the security situation in Afghanistan and called for an immediate, permanent and comprehensive cease-fire in the war-torn country.
BRICS foreign ministers on Tuesday held a virtual meeting in which they expressed concerns at continuing conflicts and violence in a different part of the world.
The meeting was convened by External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar.
The meeting was attended by Brazil Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Alberto Franco Franca, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor.

The meeting was attended by Brazil Minister of Foreign Affairs Carlos Alberto Franco Franca, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, and Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and South African Foreign Minister Naledi Pandor.
The foreign ministers of BRICS (Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa) held a meeting on Tuesday and stressed the need to promote initiatives aimed at ensuring timely, affordable, and equitable access to, as well as the distribution of diagnostics, therapeutics, medicines and vaccines.
New Delhi [India], June 1 (ANI): Continuing its support to India to fight the COVID-19 surge, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday said that another shipment of Sputnik V vaccine has been sent to India as Russia is committed to help Indian friends in these difficult times.

Asserting that Beijing stands with New Delhi amid the COVID-19 crisis, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi today said all BRICS member countries, including China, will provide support and assistance to India as it fights the second wave of the pandemic. I once again expressed my sympathy to India amid a new wave of the pandemic. In this trying time, China stands with India and all BRICS countries. As long as it is needed by India, all BRICS partners, including China, will provide further support and assistance at any time.
