Ford Philippines started 2021 strong with the launch of the refreshed Ranger this February. They re not done yet. Far from it, in fact. The automaker still has a lot in store, but they re keeping a tight lip on what s to come.
So what do we know so far?
Well, for starters, they still have more things planned for the Ranger. Based on their announcement, Ford Philippines called the launch event “Ranger Life Campaign Part 1”. Take note, “Part 1”, suggesting a part two in the future. Again, Ford did not say what s in store for “Part 2”. But, Ford Philippines Managing Director PK Umashankar said they plan to expand the Ranger s growth even more. At the moment, the Ranger is ranked number two in the pick-up truck sales locally, behind the Toyota Hilux.

THE FORD RANGER became the best-selling 4×4 pickup truck in 2020, cornering 41% of the market. Ford Philippines reported full-year sales of 5,093 units for the Ranger 4×4 pickup accounting for 52% of the total 9,767 Rangers sold.
In a release, the company said this model helped drive Ford’s overall market share to 24% in the pickup segment, securing the Ranger’s position as one of the two best-selling pickups in the market last year. Ford currently offers a 4×4 variant for the Ranger XLS, FX4 and Wildtrak, including the Ranger Raptor, in its pickup portfolio.
Ford Philippines expanded its truck portfolio last year with the launch of the new Ranger FX4 and a 4×4 variant. It also mounted a successful comeback in the small SUV segment with the launch of the all-new Ford Territory whose full-year sales reached 1,925 vehicles, good for 33% share in the small SUV segment within five months of launch.
THE TOP variant of the Ford’s Ranger pickup lineup here has reached a sales milestone of 10,000 units just two years since its launch.
“This huge success for the Ranger Raptor is a testament to its consistent and growing popularity in the Philippines,” said Ford Philippines Managing Director PK Umashankar. “We thank our over 10,000 customers for choosing the Ranger Raptor and for being part of the growing community of performance pickup enthusiasts in the country.”
The Ranger Raptor accounted for over 40% of total Ranger sales in the Philippines in 2019. Regionally, the Philippines has become the leading contributor to total Ranger Raptor sales across ASEAN markets with a 64% share and across Ford’s International Markets Group with a 37% market share over the past two years.
