2020 Ford F-150 Lightning EV Pickup Debuts, 300-Mile Range, Priced At $40k
Updated: May 19, 2021
Ford revealed the new 2022 F-150 Lightning all-electric pickup at its “Glass House” headquarters in Dearborn, Michigan, in a dramatic outdoor multi-media presentation. Ford hopes this big EV will be the blue-collar hero, making the Lightning accessible to mainstream buyers and providing continuing employment for workers at Ford and its suppliers.
The F-150 Lightning could also make heroes out of companies that quickly adopt the F-150 Lightning as a work truck for local jobs. Electric power to charge EVs costs less than the price of gasoline, and routine maintenance is less. Brakes last longer, there are no mufflers and electric motors have fewer parts than combustion engines.
