Guinea s opposition resumed contact with the military-dominated government on Monday after months of no dialogue raising fears of rising tensions, an AFP correspondent said.
The Guinean Ministry of Justice on Sunday demanded explanations for the arrest of two civil society activists, likely to call into question an attempt to resume the broken dialogue between the opposition and the ruling junta.
In Guinea, ethnicity has been mentioned several times during the hearings of defendants in the September 28, 2009 massacre trial. References to the parties’ ethnic groups have even provoked some incidents.
