The stricter rules in Salisbury mean that pubs, restaurants and bars are forced to close until further notice, but are allowed to operate a takeaway service. Non-essential retail, gyms, hairdressers and beauty salons can remain open. Cllr Philip Whitehead, Leader of Wiltshire Council, said restrictions are in place for a very good reason and residents are urged to stay at home and stay local.
