TULSA, Okla. -
When the college softball season was called off last March, University of Tulsa pitcher Kassidy Scott thought her career was over.
Her journey to continue playing a game she had played ever since she could walk did not come easy. Taking every single day as if it’s my last because just like last year, you truly don t know when it is, said Scott.
It s a sentiment the senior pitcher carries every day when she steps foot inside the circle. Scott played two seasons at Texas Tech before joining the Hurricane. While playing in Lubbock for the Red Raiders, she discovered she had a tumor in her back that is 10 centimeters - about the size of two limes.

The Hillsboro Indians secured their 13th consecutive win Friday night by defeating the East Clinton Astros by the final score of 68-54.
It was a fairly dominant second quarter (HHS 23 ECHS 12) that keyed the victory. It was also the Indians three point shooting that was the difference in the period (turning a one point deficit into a halftime lead of twelve). And, from that juncture, HHS never looked back.
Ryan Scott, who hit a pair of 3 s in the second frame, led Hillsboro with a team high 25 points (Brad Miller added 12). For Scott s offensive effort, he was named the WSRW player of the game. After the game, Coach Miles Burton stated that his nine seniors were great kids who last year accepted him as a first year coach. He then added that his seniors are in the process of leaving a high standard for the future of Hillsboro basketball teams.
