The SD Gunner Fund hosted their second annual Charity Sporting Clay Shoot on April 17 at the Dorchester Shooting Preserve.
Cruising past large industrial sites on Sunbury Road in Midway, I hit a gravel road lined with skinny pine trees to find a rustic clubhouse filled with SD Gunner volunteers and supporters. Greeting me is SDGF founder and CEO
Britnee Kinard, a veteran advocate for wounded warriors with such a varied past that I have to share it.
“I studied recording industry management and entertainment law in college, then worked as a vice president at JP Morgan Bank before being a caretaker for my husband,
Mills has been on a national registry for a kidney donor since February 2020 when she learned she would need a transplant. The hope is that the more awareness there is of polycystic kidney disease, the more likely a donor will make the live-saving act to donate a kidney to save Mills’ life.
For those like Mills who need a kidney transplant, a healthy kidney can come from a living donor or a recently deceased person.
“The average wait time for a deceased donor is approximately 3 to 5 years, so we are sharing my story in the hopes of finding a living donor willing to ‘share their spare’,’’ said Mills, who has been with Live Oak Restaurant Group for nearly 20 years, rising from entry-level line cook to her current executive position.
charleston, those aren t even related to storms. those are just unusually high tides. we re in the midst of a heat wave. we ve broken 20 records yesterday. it s never been this hot in augusta, mobile, new orleans or savannah. look at that, 101 degrees. i know we re all feeling it, but there is a break. it s been relentless. it really has. we ve seen 14 records in atlanta in the past 24 days. nexts an amazing story, the man who lost the use of all four limbs in a fall four years ago has been able to walk and move his arms again. that s right. 28 years old, a frenchman known only as tifo has been working with virtual simulators and anna annan
accept these airplanes so i think we won t have planes running out of fuel, no emergency, no one is squawking 7,700 which means emergency. they re still landing planes at gatwick and there are still other airplanes and other air landing strips around the area. 23 you get diverted, it s like when they close atlanta because of a thunderstorm, you have to land in chattanooga or savannah. i ve done it before. you sit there on their tarmac and wait for the airspace to reopen and you get to where you want to go. certainly that ripple effect you re talking about now, the main flying time, i understand it s 11:00 in the morning here but think about the time zones and how they change and how many other airplanes are in the air to london, to heathrow at this point. they will be diverted to paris and sit there and wait until this airspace opens up. the good news is at least with the planes that were very close don t have to go very far to manchester or ham shire. they can get those planes to
or savannah. this blew up on twitter when you and i had this discussion, bob. outside of new york city, four of the five boroughs of staten island, i would say, is very red. upstate new york is extremely conservative population. they love america. can i say that? does that mean that those of us who aren t conservatives don t love america? they like smaller government. why doesn t cuomo try to do something other leaders would do like madison who said you have to protect the rights of the minority? why not? he never should have used the words he used. and then he gets the apology. he gets the accept nance and th forgiveness. republicans say something and they re forever under the sun from here to kingdom come. i feel like you re being put upon. because we are. what did you just call glenn beck? for comparing the governor of new york with george wallace? bob, the point he was making comparing the idea of what he
