(KGTV) - A woman found dead inside a San Marcos home has been identified by the San Diego Medical Examiner s Office Thursday. On June 8 around 6:30 p.m., Escondido police responded to the 1800 block of Foothill View Place after receiving reports of a vehicle on fire with a man inside. Officers pulled 29-year-old Sean McCarthy from the burning car and paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment of severe injuries, deputies said. As of Thursday afternoon, the McCarthy s condition was grave, the lieutenant Thomas Seiver said.

Investigators ID mother found slain in San Marcos home, son found badly burned in car

NORTH COUNTY  Authorities on Thursday released the name of a 68-year-old woman found slain in her San Marcos home Tuesday night. Sheriff’s Lt. Thomas Seiver said Denise Elaine McCarthy died of blunt force trauma. The department also released the name of her 29-year-old son, Sean McCarthy, who was found badly burned in a car Tuesday, and whose discovery led investigators back to the family home where they found his mother. Seiver said Sean McCarthy had lit himself on fire about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday. Emergency crews pulled him from the car and took him to a burn unit, where he remained hospitalized Thursday in grave condition.

Subscribe Just after 6:30 p.m. on June 8, 2021, officers with the Escondido Police Department responded to the 1800 block of Foothill View Place in the city of Escondido for a report of a vehicle on fire and a man inside. Fire personnel arrived and rescued the man from inside the vehicle. The man was transported to a local area hospital burn ward. The man s condition is grave. Based on the circumstances, officers and deputies went to a related residence in the 800 block of El Toro Lane in the city of San Marcos. Officer and deputies entered the residence to check the welfare of a woman who lives there. Unfortunately, they found the woman deceased inside.
