The New York Jets added a physical element to their offense by drafting wide receiver Malachi Corley and running backs Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis last week. The three rookies don’t mind contact. They welcome it and do all they can to punish would-be tacklers. Coach Robert Saleh loves that mindset and hopes the youngsters’ physical approach is contagious and permeates the entire team. Corley is expected to be a complement to wide receivers Garrett Wilson, Mike Williams and Allen Lazard. Allen and Davis will bring a powerful presence to the backfield behind Breece Hall.

Jordan Travis still has some recovering to do in his return from a horrific leg injury that once put his football career on hold. The former Florida State star quarterback was taken by the New York Jets in the fifth round of the NFL draft last week. He said he has considered someday replacing Aaron Rodgers as the Jets' starting quarterback. But his focus right now is on getting healthy.
Aaron Rodgers is on track to be back on the field for the New York Jets without any restrictions in a few weeks. Coach Robert Saleh said Friday after the team’s first day of rookie minicamp practices that Rodgers has looked good as he continues to work his way back eight months after tearing his left Achilles tendon in his Jets debut. The Jets begin organized team activities — also called “phase three” of offseason workouts — on May 20, when they can hold non-contact 11-on-11 drills during practice. And Rodgers, if in attendance for the voluntary sessions, should be able to participate fully.
