He has been identified by police as 33 yearold kevin briones. So this happened at the extended Stay American Hotel on Senate National avenue in the santa teresa neighborhood. Police say officers were investigating a disturbance when they made contact with the suspect named kevin briones. Theyre saying theyre saying he then shot at those officers. The district was initially facing a shortfall of 15pointone Million Dollars. That number has now dropped to nine Million Dollars. Tonight hundreds of parents packed tonights meeting. Pushing Board Members to keep their school open. Labor unions and Community Groups are trying to get school Board Members to reconsider their calculations. They want access to how the budget is being analyzed, so the community can help come up with proposals for the allocation of funds. Those opposing cuts to schools say high paid administrators should feel the brunt of it, but students will no doubt be affected. In a place where they could go into state receivership. Funding to the uc and cal state systems will go up by 3 which faculty claims should be higher. 570million will go to community colleges. 100million will also be used to create the states first Online Community college. 3billion will go to elementary and high schools.
