MEMPHIS, Tenn. Fannie Stanberry had been on the job for two months as a package handler at FedEx Express’ massive World Hub when, toward the end of her overnight shift, packages started to fall from a huge shipping container that rolled past her.
As Stanberry, then 61, bent to pick up the packages, she fell and became trapped between the catwalk she’d been standing on and the wheeled platform carrying the shipping container, also known as a dolly. “I thought I was a goner,” Stanberry said. She broke eight ribs and her left arm and lacerated her liver, she said. “I had to learn how to walk over again.”

A few months into the COVID-19 pandemic, Food Rite off Azalea Avenue closed its doors, making it even more difficult to get groceries in the Highland Park area.
Like many areas in Richmond, the Department of Agriculture labels Highland Park as a food desert, an area with high levels of poverty and low access to grocery stores.
A mother and daughter team planned to open Darrell’s Family Supermarket, a new grocery store, in the location on Dec. 12, but had to postpone after unexpected problems cropped up, says Renee Trueheart, a local real estate agent behind the initiative.

The release of Santos name came a day after a briefing held by La Marque PD Chief Kirk Jackson became contentious over questions about the officer s age and race, which the chief and Mayor Pro-tem Keith Bell refused to answer. This was despite police immediately identifying Feast as Black.
According to Jackson, the information on Santos was subject to approval by the Galveston County Sheriff s Office, which is leading the investigation.
Police said Santos, who is Hispanic, has been with the department since October 2014.
