The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is recalling several cantaloupe brands sold across Canada due to salmonella. The recall regarding the first case was originally triggered on November 11, 2023, and two other recalls have been issued since. The cantaloupe brands include those sold at Save on Foods, the Urban Fare and Malachite brands as well as Groupe Tomapure, Fresh Start Foods and Fruit Pure brands. The Canadian Inspection Food Agency is currently working on ensuring that the affected food products are being properly removed from the marketplace.
Malichita, Save on Foods and Urban Fare brands of cantaloupe products are being recalled including not only whole melons, but pre-cut chunks, fruit salads and platters.
Anyone who bought the bags of chocolate-covered raisins from President's Choice should throw them out or return them, Canadian health officials are warning.
