In 2022, Belarus exported more than $500 million worth of food products to China. “The increase was more than 40%. It is still not the figures the two countries can reach though.
Agriculture and Food Minister Igor Brylo met with top management of the state-owned company China Cold Chain Industry Investment Group. The participants of the meeting discussed a possibility to ramp up the supply of frozen beef and poultry meat to China.
“Export of food products and agricultural raw materials increased by 24.2% to $8.3 billion in 2022, up $1.6 billion. Foreign trade surplus made up $3.4 billion, up $1.3 billion or 59% from 2021. Food products and agricultural raw materials amounted to 22% of Belarus' total exports. In 2023, we plan to export at least $8.5 billion worth of agricultural products, and we will do our best to exceed the level,” said Igor Brylo.
