Latest budget in hayward, juliette goodrich, kpix5. Cal state faculty says governor browns latest budget doesnt help the situation much. Heres how it breaks down. Funding to the uc and cal state systems will go up by 3 which faculty claims should be higher. 570million will go to community colleges. 100million will also be used to create the states first Online Community college. 3billion will go to elementary and high schools. Overall the governors budget proposes nearly 132 billion in spending. That includes a surplus of over 6 billion. Much of that is set to go into the states rainy day fund.
