31,000 applicants justle for Osun 2,500 teaching jobs

Punch Newspapers Sections Bola Bamigbola, Osogbo About 31,000 applicants have registered for employment in the ongoing recruitment of 2,500 teachers for public schools in Osun State. The Osun State Commissioner for Education, Mr Folorunsho Oladoyin, made the disclosure while monitoring the recruitment examination. Oladoyin had in December 2020 said 1,500 teachers would be recruited into secondary schools, while 1,000 would be employed into the elementary schools across the state. Oladoyin expressed satisfaction with the conduct of the applicants. According to him, the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board that was given the job had full autonomy to conduct the recruitment examination without interference. Punch Newspapers Sections Bola Bamigbola, Osogbo A suspected impostor was apprehended on Wednesday in Ilesha, Osun State, while attempting to take the teachers’ recruitment examination for a woman. The suspect (name withheld) was reportedly arrested at a centre at the College of Education, Ilesha. He was said to be impersonating a woman believed to be his wife. Luck ran out on him when officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board deployed in the centre found out that his face did not match the photograph on the record of the applicant stored in the database of the Ministry of Education.
