FOLEY - Do you like getting dressed up in your nicest or wackiest hats, enjoying live music with friends, and participating in a one-of-a-kind hat parade, all while helping local nonprofits? Then get ready for the 2021 Foley Woman’s Club Mad Hatters’ Event!
The annual event, the club’s largest fundraiser of the year, was forced to cancel in 2020 amidst the pandemic. This year, it’s back and better than ever with the theme “World of Books 2.0.” It will take place on Wednesday, May 5 at the Foley Civic Center. Doors will open at 10 a.m. and tickets are $25 per person.

Former Foley Mayor Arthur Holk obit, funeral arrangements Posted Sunday, March 14, 2021 11:12 am
Arthur Holk, 95 years old, of Magnolia Springs and longtime resident of Foley, passed away suddenly on Saturday, March 13 of a major stroke. Arthur was born to the late Margaret (Wooten) and late George Holk on October 13, 1925 in their original family home located above the “Holk Grocery Store” on the corner of Highway 59 and 98 in Foley. His parents had five boys - George ( Buster ), Herbert, Arthur, Harvey, and Floyd. In addition to being a local business owner, his father was the fifth Mayor for the City of Foley when Arthur was born. His parents eventually built their homeplace on the corner of Camphor and Highway 59 only to be met by tragedy five years later when their beloved mother, Margaret, died of cancer leaving a single dad

Foley Woman’s Club announces date for 2021 Mad Hatters’ Event Posted

FOLEY - The Foley Woman’s Club is delighted to announce that their annual Mad Hatters’ event which was cancelled last March has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 5, at the Foley Civic Center. The theme will be “World of Books 2.0” as was previously advertised last year.
All donations and raffle baskets donated last year were stored and will be ready to use. A list of ticket purchasers was kept so all purchased tickets for last March will be honored. Additional tickets for the event can be purchased from President Kelly Barrett at 251-609-9778 or Sylvia Womack at 251-955-5294.

Friends of the Foley Library cancel Annual Book Sale Posted Foley Book Sale 2020

FOLEY - The Friends of the Foley Public Library have made the decision to cancel the Annual Book Sale. The Book Sale is usually held in February inside the Foley Civic Center, and draws large crowds over the two-day public event, with a third day being held for Friends of the Foley Library members only.
“The Friends of the Foley Library will cancel the Annual Book Sale scheduled in February 2021,” said Friends of the Foley Library President Rusty Anglin. “We believe we need to adhere to COVID-19 guidelines and avoid large gatherings.”
