A VEGAN snack created in Scotland for sufferers of irritable bowel syndrome is to be stocked in more than 100 Lidl stores. Fodilicious Cookie Buttons is the first snack range of Livingston-based Fodilicious, founded in 2017 by Lauren Leisk, a graduate of Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh. “We are really excited to supply Lidl as our first major supermarket retailer across Scotland,” Ms Leisk said. “Our Cookie Buttons have been a huge success and featuring in their Veganuary promotion will allow us to raise our brand awareness to a new customer market.” One in five people across the UK suffers from irritable bowel syndrome, a common condition that affects the digestive system and can cause stomach cramps, bloating, diarrhoea and constipation. Certain groups of carbohydrates are known to trigger digestive problems. These are known as FODMAP carbohydrates – standing for fermentable oligosaccharides, disaccharides and monosaccharides and polyols.
