The province is expanding COVID-19 vaccine eligibility to include all adults who live or work in the Northern Regional Health Authority and expanding community-based eligibility to Seven Oaks West in Winnipeg, it was announced Monday.
“To protect themselves and protect their families and their communities, people who are now eligible should make their appointments as soon as possible,” said Dr. Joss Reimer, medical lead of the Vaccine Implementation Task Force at a virtual press conference Monday. “The vaccine is one way we can slow the spread of this virus and help minimize the height of the third wave of COVID-19. However, we only can deliver the vaccine that we have so it is critical for people to also follow public health orders, stay home when they’re sick, physically distance, and get tested if they have symptoms.”
