The Conneaut Public Library and a number of other entities worked together to give away 44 new bicycles earlier this month. SUBMITTED
CONNEAUT â A partnership between the library, city departments and other organizations culminated with 44 new bicycles being donated to children.
The bicycles were donated by the Flying Wheels Bicycle Club, Summit BiCycle, Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 51, and the Conneaut Fire Department, according to a statement from the Conneaut Public Library. Helmets were donated by the Flying Wheels Bicycle Club, Summit Bicycle and the Ashtabula County Metroparks.
Conneaut City Manager Jim Hockaday spearheaded the project, according to the statement. The cityâs Wastewater Department took delivery of the bikes and they were assembled by library staff.
