A man reportedly driving a delivery van for Amazon was arrested on suspicion of DUI violations after two hit-and-run crashes in Simi Valley on Thursday, police officials said.
The first crash was reported around 2 p.m. in the 2000 block of Avenida Vista Del Monte, according to the Simi Valley Police Department. Officers found a city light pole had been knocked over, reportedly by a delivery van that was actively working in the neighborhood. Police photos show the concrete pole lying across the sidewalk of a residential street, draped by a leafy branch ripped from a tree as it fell. The base of the pole was shattered.
