joe biden s campaign has done. look, he s going to keep making gaffs. he s been making gaffs for years. this is not unusual for him. it s something that is endearing to an extent to some of his supporters. they see it as something that he s been doing for a long time. they see a museum man element in some of the gaffs that he makes. but i think the most important thing is he doesn t go out there and flub or mischaracterize and opponent s record. it s one thing to sort of mischaracterize something in light of a good intention. it s a totally different thing if you re going after a candidate and trying to mischaracterize their record in any way. there was good news for the former vice president today. there s this new pole from battleground, wisconsin, i m sure you ve seen it. it shows biden leading the president by nine points in a general election matchup. and that was a pole taken among 800 registered voters in wisconsin. you can see the information about the pole at the bottom of y
former vice president joe biden to task over his, quote, irrelevant details. he seized the moment to juxtapose on a range of topics including iraq, health care and climate change. the email includes, quote, biden has seen the details of monumental policy proposals and then used flawed judgment for ill-advised decisions that bernie opposed. it goes on to also, quote, treats details as irrelevant. joining us now a reporter for the associated press once again juana summers. juana, let s talk about joe biden here. what do you make on the reaction of his most recent flub in the campaign trail? yasmin, this is similar to what the former vice president told reporters when he met for an hour and a half last week, he made the report that the
around this notion hillary clinton was seen as the safe candidate. at the end of the day, she didn t turn out the base. i think that s really on a lot of voters minds and a lot of people concerned joe biden might not be able to pull that off and be a repeat. if donald trump is on the ballot, i don t think they need anything else to motivate voters to go out and vote. two ways joe biden loses this nomination. number one, the flub you mentioned, an epic meltdown. number two, consolidation on the progressive wing, if in fact bernie sanders are added to elizabeth warren voters. that s why the poll numbers you just showed is so interesting. there is not necessarily a monolithic opposition to joe biden. the biggest threat, add up progressive voters, one drops out, a consolidation. puts elizabeth warren on his
lot of these issues, immigration issues and gun violence issues leading up to this. it was a speech he read from a script. there was certainly a lot of banter and making fun of his flub when he said toledo instead of dayton, ohio. it is unclear if that was on the prompter or if he made that flub himself. but sort of the catalyst to decry the entire speech. tim ryan who is running for president wonders if president trump has the mental capacity to be the leader of this nation. beto o rourke has been speaking a lot about what took place there and the lives lost and what needs to change. pete buttigieg will join
