the senate is working on the 20 14th federal budget. ma.y are having a voterabm they could be there all night and into the early hours of tomorrow morning. joining us on the phone, kathleen hunter. she reports for bloomberg news. they have been taking a slew of amendment votes. what is going on? this is a voterama. it has been four years since he had one of these on the senate floor. the senate has not done a budget in four years. they take several hours. sometimes 12, routine hours. two-minute debates. .hen the next amendment two-minute debate. five-minute vote. proposal after proposal. how long will it take to get to a final vote? there are 400 amendments that had been filed. they need to be prefiled. realistically, only a fraction of those will get a vote. i think we are at 20 amendments now. the last time we did a budget in 2009, there were 38 of them. earlier today someone told me the most they have ever done was 44 in 2008. it looks like we could be getting clos
