said, he is a strong baby. and she said he s a fighter. they thought it would be a pretty simple resolution to the case. you know, somebody is missing a baby, they d be looking for it. but, unfortunately, that is not what occurred and they actually had to put a lot of man hours into trying to find the parents of this child. they utilized the newark newspapers at the time as well as the new york city newspapers to get the word out, a description of the baby, the circumstances in which it was found. and they sat back and i think they waited for the tips to come flowing in, and they never did. as time went on, there was this other high profile case half way across the country out in chicago. where a baby was missing. apparently that was a case that didn t have a lot of leads
it s also interesting that those unaccompanied minors we saw flowing in, do you remember three summers ago? how many of them there were. we are starting to see numbers to pick up again. it s south america. you have unaccompanied minors who don t have parents, trying to address all the issues, it s a challenge for my state. harris: what issues do they bring? putting them with foster parents harris: if you can find them. and dealing with the cost of that. we can t borrow money in our state. we have to have a balanced budget. we haven t necessarily included the cost in our budget because of the challenge for my state to pay for it. harris: what about the overall responsibility, the moral responsibility in that as well? no doubt.
president is an innocent by stander here and this all on congress lap. i thought he campaigned as the best negotiator and he was going to fix this. you have to understand there is the reality of the senate that you need 60 votes. you need the democrats to get on board. obviously, the democrats haven t played ball. you take the case of immigration where the president presented a very generous compromise when it came to the daca recipients as well as securing the border. the democrats refused to come to the table. so it makes it incredibly frustrating. why the president has called to end the filibuster rule in the senate. and it s why, at this point, the president is saying i m not going to sign a bill like this again. it does provide now, the positive part about thi this is it does provide an initial down payment for the wall. we will get new construction for the wall, which is very important for the president. it s one of his top promises that he has made to the american people. b
