Despite the sudden rise of covid-19 cases in many states, Bengaluru saw fewer positive cases in February than in January. However, more covid deaths were reported in February than the previous month. While January witnessed 10,311 positive cases with 66 deaths, February had 6,550 cases with 86 deaths in Bengaluru.

In January, Bengaluru added 10,311 cases, and crossed the four lakh covid cases mark in February. An analysis of the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) shows a rising trend, as opposed to arrested numbers since September. In January, the CFR was at 0.64 per cent, rising to 1.24 per cent in February. The positivity rate has also seen a slow upward movement. In January, it was at 0.91 per cent and February 0.95 per cent.
