Two 16-year-olds accused of fleeing from Buffalo police then crashing stolen car facing charges

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) â Two 16-year-olds accused of fleeing from Buffalo Police in a stolen car, crashing it, then running away are facing a number of charges.
Police say the teens were initially seen driving the stolen car on Peter Street in Buffalo around 11:00 a.m Tuesday. The Erie County DA s Office says when police stopped the car, the teenage driver refused to get out then sped away, almost hitting the officer and causing him to allegedly fire his gun.
A 16-year-old male from Buffalo is charged with:
Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, a Class “C” violent felony
Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, a Class “E” felony
Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle in the Third Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor
Unlawful Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle in the Third Degree, a Class “A” misdemeanor
He appeared in court Wednesday afternoon before Youth Part Judge Kevin M. Carter who set bail at $50,000, $75,000 bond,.
The other 16-year-old male, also from Buffalo, is charged with:
Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Fourth Degree, a Class “E” felony
