Blame it on the unprecedented ice and snow in Texas and its tragic aftermath.
That s what AAA says higher gas prices that it predicts will continue to rise due to the recent winter weather blast s impact on the Gulf Coast refinery region.
Power outages knocked out gasoline refineries in Texas and neighboring states as weather interfered with fuel shipments out of the area, AAA said. Since much of Florida s gasoline comes from refineries in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi, an interruption in the supply line there has a direct impact on prices here.
