Roderick K. King, MD, MPH will join UMMS this summer and will be tasked with working collaboratively across the System to develop a long-term roadmap for diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) that aligns with the Systemâs strategic plan.

Palm Beach Daily News Physicians and other health-care professionals by nature and by education focus on individuals seeking care and cure as they should. Soon after retiring from a surgical practice, I had the privilege of chairing the Palm Beach Medical Care Commission, whose duty was to evaluate the quality of the medical facilities in the region. In the process, my perspective changed to include concern about the health of the community as well as that of individuals. That has been reinforced by my involvement in chairing the FAU College of Medicine Advisory Board, serving as president of Palm Beach County Medical Society Services, chairing the board of the Promise Fund of Florida and serving as an officer in the Florida Institute for Health Innovation.
