A group of Florida Democrats in Congress want the governor to reverse course with regards to a recent decision involving unemployment.
All ten of the Democrats in Florida s U.S. House delegation have sent a
letter to Ron DeSantis, expressing concerns with his decision to withdraw the state from the Federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation Program on June 26th.
The governor says the extra $300 is keeping jobless Floridians from seeking work and that s causing businesses trouble finding employees. But the lawmakers say other things are causing businesses to struggle finding workers, including competitive pay, fear of unsafe workplaces and unavailability of child care.
