A truck driver has been arrested for causing a major accident on William Nicol street close to Life Flora Hospital in Roodepoort, the Johannesburg metro police department said.
JMPD spokesperson Snr Supt Wayne Minnaar said the truck, which was carrying chrome from Rustenburg to City Deep, crashed into the rear of a van and SUV vehicle which were stationary at a traffic light.

According to JMPD spokesman Wayne Minaar the accident happened on Saturday behind flora clinic on the down hill of William Nicol Street.
Minnaar said the truck that caused an accident was transporting chrome from Rustenburg to City Deep. The truck collided into rear of van and SUV vehicle which were both stationary at a traffic light .The driver of the van was seriously injured and was airlifted to Milpark Hospital, he said.
He added that the passenger of the van was also serious and was transported to Flora clinic .
Minnaar said the driver of the SUV was only slightly injured.
