The Vergas Arts Club and Vergas Community Club are joining forces to host a "Polka Dance Party" on Sunday, April 16 with music from the iconic Chmieliewski Fun Time Band.
Florian “Floyd” Ceglarek, 87, of Alpena went to heaven on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021.
Floyd was born Aug. 11, 1933 to the late John and Celia Ceglarek. He enlisted in the Army on May 26, 1953 and was honorably discharged on May 12, 1955. Corporal Ceglarek served his country stationed in Germany on Occupation Duty. He served with the 2nd Armored Division as a telephone switchboard operator. He received a Good Conduct Ribbon – Occupation Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Expert Marksman Badge, and Expert Rifleman’s Badge. Floyd worked at Frazier Products for 17-and-a-half years and at Louisiana Pacific for 31 years before retiring on May 1, 1999.
Floyd is survived by his two stepchildren, Linda Hansen (Larry) Rice, and Martin (Janice) Hansen both of Indiana, his brother Ron (Marilyn), his sister Carol and Al Crow, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Deloris, and his son Florian Jr.
