Inteleos Announces Maya Health Alliance as MissionPOCUS Selection for 2022

ROCKVILLE, Md., June 9, 2022 /PRNewswire/ Today Inteleos announced a pilot project with Wuqu' Kawoq | the Maya Health Alliance as the selection of the Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) Certification Academy's 2022 MissionPOCUS project. As the fifth MissionPOCUS project since the initiative's inception in 2018, Inteleos' MissionPOCUS will award the Guatemalan organization a grant to establish an innovative education program aimed to decrease maternal mortality and improve access to care for indigenous Mayan populations. Man gets 6 months in jail in DuPage County crash that killed 80-year-old woman

Sun-Times file photo A Lombard man was sentenced to 6 months in jail Friday for causing a 2019 crash that left an 80-year-old woman dead in DuPage County. Todd Heidenthal, 50, pleaded guilty to one count of reckless homicide on Sept. 17, 2021, the DuPage County state’s attorney’s office said in a statement. On Nov. 8, 2019, Heidenthal was eastbound about 7 a.m. on 35th Street between Midwest Road and Route 83 when he crossed over a double yellow line into oncoming traffic to pass a vehicle in front of him, prosecutors said. While attempting to pass, Heidenthal crashed head-on into a car driven by Florence Hsiao, killing her, prosecutors said.

A Lombard man was sentenced Friday to six months in jail for killing a woman in a crash when he passed in a no-passing zone. DuPage County Judge Daniel Guerin also sentenced Todd Heidenthal, 50, to 30 months of probation and to undergo anger-management treatment, according to court records.   The 2019 crash killed Florence Hsiao, 78, of Westmont. I am deeply distraught, Heidenthal told Guerin during a presentencing hearing Wednesday. I wish that I could change things. I had no intent on harming anybody that day. Heidenthal said he would understand if Hsiao s daughter couldn t forgive him.
