Also in court, dozens of cat lovers outraged by the crimes. 24yearold man is facing charges, the charges now from san jose, vic . Reporter well, cheryl, every seat in the courtroom was filled many holding pictures of their cats who went missing or were found dead. Now the judge rejected a defense motion to release robert farmer. Instead, he imposed bail of 75,000 which by the way is higher than the scheduled amount for a crime of this type. Robert farmer, son of a retired San Jose Police captain, was formally charged with animal cruelty and other related crimes. The prosecutor said he had been kidnapping, then hurting and killing cats since midseptember. She thanked Community Members for coming forward with information. The victims that mr. Apparently what man was in there, he used lighter fluid to set the costumes on fire, where they then spread over to the candy section, back to the costumes and put out by the floor personnel as well as Alameda County. Yeah, like you said it was about 1 45 this afternoon, and a suspicious man was in the store for hours carry iing a bottle o lighter fluid. And at some point he went inside the store and lit the costumes on fire with the lighter fluid. He was quickly stopped by the store personnel and additional personnel started to put out the fire as Police Arrived on scene and took custody of the person. Images of the white ford pickup truck as it left the parking lot around 7 00 this morning. So far, police have found no video cameras that captured the collision itself. The pedestrian ended up in the street near the curb at Florence Court where he was eventually declared dead. Police are not sure what he was doing during the time of the collision, whether on the sidewalk, trying to cross the street even though there are no crosswalks or doing something else. Police have interviewed at least one person who saw the accident and we spoke with another person who heard it. I kind of heard a hit but it wasnt like car hit, so i didnt really i wasnt interested in checking. And then the car sped off, thats all high heard.
