Flora Police Make Arrest In Bomb Threat At Floyd Henson Jr High

Flora Police have made the arrest in a bomb threat made at Floyd Henson Jr. High School on Thursday. Around 2:30 Thursday Afternoon, Flora Police along with the work of the local school resource officer, detective and patrol officers, they have identified they person who is responsible for that threat. Since the person responsible, is a juvenile, no name is being released. Police are working with the Clay County States Attorney and the Clay County Probation Office on having the charges filed. At 8:20 Thursday morning, the initial message went out from Flora Police that students were being bussed to the high school from the Jr. High in an abundance of caution. At 9:30, school officials announced students were safe and sound at the high school and offered parents the opportunity to pick up their children at the high school gym if they felt uncomfortable with the situation. Fairfield Public School District #112 will conduct registration for all students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade on Tuesday, July 19, in the new cafeteria at North Side School, and NOT at Center Street School. This is a change from previous years. Please enter through the North door on the new addition. (Signs will be posted). The hours of registration will be from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. All students must register prior to the beginning of school. Horizon Healthcare will be on-site to provide School and/or Sports Physicals at no cost.
