Flor Daisy Angga, Matanao acting police chief, identified the victim as Patrolman Hariz Jhun Adayo, 26, of Poblacion Uno, Bansalan, Davao del Sur. Angga said Adayo was attacked while onboard his motorbike while heading to neighboring Hagonoy town from Bansalan, via the provincial road in Matanao town. Upon reaching Barangay New Visayas in Matanao town, the gunmen onboard a motorcycle fired at Adayo several times before speeding off.
