BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - As parts of south Louisiana recovered from heavy rains, flooding, and tornadoes and braced for the possibility of more rain, members of Louisianaâs Revenue Estimating Conference offered up a bright forecast for state revenue on Tuesday, May 18.
The four-member panel told the Associated Press Tuesday, it predicts the state will collect an estimated $677 million in additional tax collections than previously expected over the next 14 months.

Authorities in Baton Rouge have identified a man who was found dead in his vehicle, after it was caught in flood waters. The victim was found, after water receded, in his vehicle as a pile of abandoned cars were being pulled apart on Bluebonnet Boulevard.
Officials say that the body of 33-year-old Justin Blaine Thompson was discovered as tow trucks were separating a pile of vehicles that were swept up by flood waters. The mass of cars were found near the Mall of Louisiana. All of the other cars in the pile were abandoned, according to authorities.
