Storm Mathis as named by the French Met Office is creeping up through northern Europe, with its tail end set to unleash chaos overnight and into the end of this week.
Southern England and south Wales have been issued with a yellow weather warning for strong winds that could reach up to 70mph. The Met Office warns that the gales could cause delays to road, rail, air, and ferry transport.
Met Office forecasters have said the mercury will remain "near average for the time of year" around Easter weekend, despite weather maps showing an incoming cold front.
