Aucklanders are flocking to the malls and restaurants after a week of being stuck at home with reports a KFC on the North Shore was temporarily without chicken.
As the patchy weather is keeping people off the beaches and outside, shoppers at some Auckland malls including Glenfield Mall are reporting huge queues.

St Anthony s School Medieval Fayre was held in Gonville on Saturday, with Whanganui people flocking to Alma Rd to take in the festivities. Organiser Anthony Magnoli said he was thrilled by the number of people who made an appearance. It was a beautiful day, and I think it was record-breaking for us, Magnoli said. Everything just fell into place.
The numbers of stalls and games had increased from last year, Magnoli said, and all the money raised went directly back into the school itself.
