Everything from snow to freezing rain will be a possibility through Friday. Tuesday is the calm before the storm. Sunshine will grace the skies before more clouds arrive during the afternoon. Highs will be cold in the upper 20s, but with light winds it shouldn’t feel too bad out there this afternoon. Tuesday night, the snow starts to fall by midnight and will continue into Wednesday morning.

Macomb, Ottawa, Livingston, St. Clair and Monroe counties also are among the 29 counties with a positivity rate averaging more than 10% over the past seven days. It’s a sign that while Michigan coronavirus numbers are on the decline, they’re still considerably higher than they were in October. Statewide, Michigan’s seven-day average of new cases is now 3,396, a 27% drop from 4,631 a week ago today. The seven-day average positivity rate is now 9.2%, down from 10.6% a week ago.

(WJRT) - The Bay County Sheriff’s Office said a man died in what appeared to be an accident at a Michigan Sugar Plant. The sheriff’s department said a 53-year-old man died after he fell about 120 while working in an elevated area of the plant on Euclid Road in Monitor Township around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Investigators said the man had worked at the facility for just a month. Michigan Sugar officials say they are investigating what happened and cooperating with authorities.

(AP) - Michigan legislators have finalized a plan to borrow $600 million to finance the state’s proposed settlement with the residents of Flint, whose water was contaminated with elevated levels of the neurotoxin lead. The legislation received House approval on 105-3 and 104-4 votes Wednesday. It would authorize a loan from a state economic development fund, costing more than $1 billion to repay over 30 years or $35 million annually. The legal settlement is believed to be the state government’s largest ever, pending approval from a federal judge. The legislation now heads to Gov. Gretchen Whitmer for her signature.
