Strong demand for domestic travel across Australia has prompted Qantas to announce plans to introduce seven new routes and deploy more wide-body aircraft on services between major state capitals. Direct flights are set to link Townsville with Adelaide, Melbourne, and Sydney; Adelaide with Cairns and Hobart; Sydney and Uluru; and Perth with the Gold Coast. Five of the routes will be operated by 94-seater Embraer E190 regional jets as part of QantasLink’s partnership with Alliance Airlines. Customers will also see more wide-body aircraft with Business Suites on flights from the East Coast capital cities to Perth and Darwin.
