The Fletcher School has announced the appointment of International Human Rights law expert, Chidi Anselm Odinkalu, PhD, to a Professor of Practice Faculty position.
The School, in a statement, said Chidi Odinkalu’s position is for a three-year term beginning in the Fall of 2021.
He will join Fletcher’s multi-disciplinary Faculty focused on preparing tomorrow’s leaders to use the latest legal, political, economic, and business thinking to generate policies and inform decisions that shape global events.
“Chidi Odinkalu is a renowned human rights activist with a distinguished record of public service, who has spent more than three decades working at the front line of human rights law and research, development advocacy, international institutional law and governmental policy”, remarked Kelly Sims Gallagher, Academic Dean at The Fletcher School.

Jerry P. Ledet Jr., president and CEO of Synergy Bank, will deliver the keynote address at Fletcher Technical Community College s upcoming graduation ceremony.
About 600 students will participate in \the ceremony, scheduled for 1 p.m. May 21 at the Houma-Terrebonne Civic Center, 346 Civic Center Blvd. Students will particpate from classes going back to summer 2019 who were not able to participate in formal commecements that were canceled due to COVID-19.
Ledet, in the banking field for 38 years, is now chairman of the board of the Louisiana Bankers Association. A native of Thibodaux, he is president of the Rotary Club of Houma and was named by The Courier as Terrebonne s Most Useful Citizen of 2018.

GEISMAR, LA, December 18, 2020 – BASF’s site in Geismar recently graduated six local community and technical college students from their Process Technology (PTEC) internships. BASF offers PTEC internships to build its pipeline of top talent from within the local community and to provide students with insight into careers in manufacturing.
“The most rewarding aspect of this internship was receiving the hands-on experience that I needed to flourish as a process technician. Completing this internship was rewarding as well. I gave it my all, kept a positive attitude, and kept a strong work ethic until the end of this internship,” said Leslie Narcisse a Utilities Intern at the Geismar site.
