Iconic to the Hawke’s Bay social calendar, the annual Boxing Day Festival returns to Cape Estate in 2020 after another sold-out festival in 2019. The festival delivers the best in Hawke’s Bay hospitality and entertainment drawing together family and friends in an open-air garden stage setting to bring you a memorable summer occasion.
Cape Estate is located on the elevated terrace of Te Awanga Downs overlooking sweeping vineyards, glistening sea and the spectacular Hawkes Bay coastline landmark Cape Kidnappers. With its beautiful secret garden and tennis court, the venue is set to transform into a boutique festival on Saturday 26 December. Expect live music, tennis, kubb and a handpicked selection of local food, wine, beer & cider.

Their sound is underpinned by a sustained sense of drama, stirring effected live loops and samples into an intoxicating mix that evokes the space in between dance and drone, dark and melancholic.

Beating strong with the south pulse, Pipiana Hemi (Ngāti Pikiao/Ngāpuhi) is takatāpui Māori and a queer interdisciplinary artist exploring the bounds of a digital body with deep roots. Based in Tāmaki Makarau and working under the current pseudonym Native Bush, her work cultivates an experience between old & new worlds to convey the driving force of duality. Their memos share a constant of few fucks and fluid motion to break the monotonous crutch of capitalism… yawn.
