And 100 in occidental and guerneville. Well talk more about the heat wave as the temperatures stay pretty much on the hot side each and every day. Pg e is working overtime. Jessica flores is live in livermore with the very latest on pg es hard work restoring power to thousands of people. Reporter thats right, roberta. Thousands of people were without power yesterday. And today, 2000 still without power. Around 4 30 p. M. Yesterday, about 5000 people lost their power during the height of the heat at 106. Its going to be 102 today. And 40,000 households were without power across the bay area yesterday.

That fire is still smoldering hours after it first broke out. Jessica flores shows us how fire crews are working to contain it. Reporter just after 4 a. M. The massive pile of mulch started burning near the lake herman exit. Firefighters from surrounding communities descended on the scene. Crews used bulldozers and worked to contain the blaze which likely started due to spontaneous combustion. The mulch and compost sitting through in the heat. A mulch fire two years ago was in the same location and it took eight hours to put it out. It could take five or six hours. And we have to make sure its cold to the touch so we dont get a rekindle and have to come back later tonight. Reporter fire crews are concerned about the wind and the embers flying over the street into the marsh, sparking fires there. It starts over there, well put guys on it. Weve see this graphic time and time again, a heat advisory posted throughout the bay area not to be lifted till thursday as High Pressure sparks across the west coast giving us highs not quite as warm as today, but theres more on the way. Temps remain 100 degrees inland and coast remains cool with highs in the mid60s. Temperatures will drop inland but not until it gets warmer again because a High Pressure system rebuilds.
