Watson Clinic doctor opens post-COVID clinic in Lakeland
LAKELAND A Watson Clinic doctor has opened a post-COVID-19 clinic in Lakeland, inviting patients who may have been told they were imagining the virus long-term impact.
Dr. Kathleen Haggerty, an internal medicine specialist, said she wants to help those who are suffering from lingering COVID-19 symptoms, sometimes dubbed long haulers. My goal is to make my post-COVID-19 clinic obsolete by helping people to back to their normal lives, she said.
Haggerty said she s been voraciously following news reports and the latest scientific studies on the novel coronavirus since first hearing an NPR report on a mysterious illness out of Wuhan, China, roughly a year ago.
